Thank you all for praying for Ken.
After a week in the capital city, Luke and Ken are now back home in Konomala. The doctors are still waiting on the results of Ken’s biopsy in order to give a diagnosis and recommendation. The tests revealed a large blockage and some odd growths in Ken’s esophagus.
For now, Ken is just managing his symptoms in hopes that he is able to regain some strength and find a new “normal” in life. Thankfully he is able to keep food down right now after learning to avoid certain foods and eat in smaller portions. He’s slowly but surely regaining some strength which is great, but the days are still proving to be tough for him. As you can imagine, it’s easy to start worrying and get a bit down on life … especially when there is absolutely nothing to distract him from what he is feeling all day.

This past Sunday, Ken wanted to speak to the church about all that God has been showing him through the suffering of the past months. The word got out that there would be food afterwards, so there ended up being quite a big group of people that got to hear what Ken had to say.
It was such an encouraging day to see how the church stood together and took advantage of the opportunity to declare the truth in front of a lot of their friends and family. A number of the other men in the church got a chance to speak as well, and it was awesome to hear them as they made Jesus the center of everyone’s focus. There were some profound things being put before everyone who was listening.
Most of the people who came thought that they were going to hear great stories of traveling across the country. They assumed that Luke would be the center of attention and that the doctors would be credited with having such great knowledge.
But those things were not the focus at all!
God was the hero as our good Father who orchestrated so much to help Ken. And Jesus was the emphasis as the only hope for true life now and for eternity. It was awesome.
In the midst of suffering, Ken is growing and the church is becoming more and more unified and courageous. Only God’s Spirit could produce the things that are being revealed in our friends!

Keep Praying
Pray that God would continue strengthening Ken physically and spiritually. It’s a long road ahead regardless of the final diagnosis. The spiritual battle is very real right now as he is fighting a physical battle.
Pray that God would heal Ken’s esophagus and that the biopsy would come back negative for cancer.
Regardless of the outcome, pray that Ken, his family, and the church would continue growing closer to our good Father in heaven. Rather than seeing this as a miserable season to get past (though it’s definitely miserable), it has been so encouraging to see how the church has been praising God with such a thankful and hopeful perspective.

Seth & Kaitlyn,
Thank you for this update. We will pray for Ken and those who are watching. Oh how God is at work for the sake of HIS NAME to the nations! “Konomala”. We are privileged to know & understand this great truth.

Good update. That sounds like some potentially good news for Ken. Cool to hear how God is using this with and through the church.
