Ken is home

Hey, friends

Thank you to the many of you who have been praying for us here in Konomala.
Ken, our close friend and brother in Jesus, is now looking into the loving eyes of His savior! He is finally experiencing the evidence of all that he had put his faith and hope in.

On Thursday afternoon, Ken peacefully passed away in his sleep. Now we’re excitedly looking forward to the coming day when we will all get to see his big smile again. No doubt he will have some bananas or something to share with us!
“Tes! Kui, kui, kui. Ngvn tv komo kvbv. Rut! Pom tv plet ngandit!”

Please PRAY

Firstly, take the time to ponder, be thankful for, and rest in the things that God has done and in all that He has promised. We have hope. Nothing can separate us from Him and His love. We can experience true life today and for eternity.
And all of it is wrapped up in Jesus. Take time to rest in Him and in that reality.

Pray for us as a church here in Konomala.
Though the intensity of Ken’s suffering is over, it’s not yet behind us. Things don’t just all of a sudden become easy. There is yet an intense and messy reality for those of us who are still waiting for the fulfillment of God’s promises. There is still grieving, constant family pressures, never-ending social expectations, and unrecognized habitual ways of living.
And for the those of us in the church, what used to be “normal” in this situation is needing to be re-evaluated in light of the the truth and in light of our new identification together in Jesus.
Wow, do we need grace and immense wisdom right now. Only as we abide in Jesus will we be able to love one another and allow others to see that Jesus is THE answer to all of this.

Pray for our family in the same ways. In the midst of the intensity, it is easy to focus our mind and heart on earthly things. Everything then becomes fueled by self effort and self preservation … and every time, the end results are selfishness, frustration, exhaustion, and ultimately the ‘death’ of the good things that Jesus has prepared for us … not nice. We need Jesus.

Thank you again for your prayer in all that God is doing here.
